If there’s a moral to the WordPress story, it’s that an open source platform can achieve incredible things with the support of a dedicated community. The concept for WordPress first began in 2003 when two users of b2/cafelog by the names of Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little, decided to build a platform on top of it when official support stopped.

May 27, 2003 was then Matt released the first version of WordPress. These humble beginnings took b2 Cafelog and made huge improvements to every facet of it. If you go back and look at it, you’ll realizing that knowing how to make a blog was a bit more complicated back then than it is now.

Usability is one of the pillars of WordPress’ design. Today, the platform is easy to use for beginning bloggers and seasoned veterans alike.
